Marion McDonald

Chief Strategy Officer, Ogilvy Public Relations Asia Pacific

Marion leads strategic planning and effectiveness measurement for Ogilvy Public Relations across the Asia Pacific region.

A former Deloitte auditor turned Marketing Director for several FMCG & pharmaceutical multinationals, she grew sales and market share for global brands at Procter & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, Revlon and Allergan/Botox for over a decade in Asia Pacific before moving agency side.

Joining Ogilvy Public Relations in 2008, Marion has led global PR strategy for beauty, auto, pharma, tourism, employee engagement and more. She has also helped shaped brand purpose across many categories.

Infamous for her “show me the money” approach to marketing ROI, she became a specialist in effectiveness assessment and was awarded a Lifetime Fellow of AMEC in 2015 for services to global effectiveness measurement. She leads training in strategy, effectiveness, storytelling and pitching skills across Asia Pacific for Ogilvy professionals and clients.

Australian-born, she has become an ‘Asian stir-fry’ with 18 years in Asia working in Japan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Bangkok and Myanmar, backing her Masters in International Marketing with extensive cross-cultural adaptation.

Marion is a trained team facilitator, passionate training presenter and a musical theatre director, performer and producer. She also has a Diploma in Canine Behaviour (UK) and trains troubled shelter dogs at SPCA Hong Kong.
